The Essentials on Essential Oils: Here’s What You Should be Doing with Them

The benefits of essential oils have long been touted by experts for good health and harmony. But despite all the talk of how beneficial they are, few people truly know how to use them to their advantage. 


Sure, they smell great but they have plenty of health benefits too. Essential oils can make your home smell beautifully while increasing the oxygen in your home. They can also get rid of mildew and dust, and if you have pets, they are a must for ridding the air of those pet smells. It’s a natural deodorizer, plus you can work them into lifestyle and beauty routines.


Not sure what to do with those essential oils? Here are some ways to start using them today:

1. Diffuse

Buy a cold diffuser. It will distribute the vapours from the essential oil throughout your space effectively.


2. Make potpourri

Get some cedar chips and add the essential oil of your choice to make your own potpourri. Make potpourri for Christmas gifts too for a beautiful and thoughtful gift!


3. Deodorize

Put more of those cedar chips into little packets and add essential oils to them. Then stick those packets in drawers and closets to keep smells away.


4. Vent the air

Take your favourite essential oil and soak it into cotton balls. Then stick them in the air vents at home or in your car. Every time the air runs, it will serve as a natural air refresher


5. Heat it up

Add a couple drops of some essential oil to a saucepan and heat on low over the stove. Just make sure to keep an eye on it and never let it boil or leave it unattended. 


6. Perk up your HVAC

You can also put a damp cloth with some drops of your essential oils on it close to the intake duct for your Air conditioning system the brighten up your home with the lovely essential oil scents.
